704-2bt bios question

Greetings all,

I have been using the guide Ed Jacobson wrote to put my rig together and is going well so far. I used T-Mods cd to flash to 704-2bt and then went about trying to follow the settings that RGone set out for the Ultra-D.

 

I have a few questions though if you will humor me please.

 

1. In the Genie Bios section number a2 it says to set the CPU/FSB Freq Ration to the default Multiplier. If I understand this correctly for my 3700+ with 1ghz FSB and 1mb L2 cash the multiplier should be 12 right? In the bios options the menu only went up to 11 for some reason.

 

2. In section a18 Rgone says to set the Dram Drive Strength to level 6. The settings go 1-3 weak and normal. Do I just count down 6 and it would be normal 3?

 

3. In section a19 Data Drive Strength is supposed to be level 4 but my menu is only showing up to level 3.

 

4. In section a26 is says to set 32 Byte Granularity to Disable 8 Bursts and mine only has option 4 or 2.

 

Sorry if these are some dumb questions. I have tried searching to get some answers but haven't had much luck so far. This is my first DFI board and I was able to find every other setting in Rgones post as advertised.

 

Thanks for the help guys. At my bios post screen it is showing 7/6/2005. Is this correct for the 704-2bt bios version? I haven't even installed windows yet and am running memtest now despite those questions.

-> NO! 3700+ has only a 11x Multi

-> I think so. But it is no problem to set weak4

 

3. In section a19 Data Drive Strength is supposed to be level 4 but my menu is only showing up to level 3.

-> Mine to. Might be Bios related, but it doesn't matter.

 

4. In section a26 is says to set 32 Byte Granularity to Disable 8 Bursts and mine only has option 4 or 2.

-> Leave it at Auto
