Opty 146 @ 3.12Ghz - Having HTT problems?

Hi, well I finally sold my 4800+ - good riddance, certainly won't be jumping on any "lateset tech" rubbish again...

Anyway, got me opteron 146 running as in me sig but I'm having some strange goings on....

I think I can get another 80-100mhz out of the chip but somethings holding it back.

Strange things happening...

1. Whenever I change a setting in the bios, the computer reboots but 4/5 times will hang at the pci detection screen for 5 seconds and then reboot itself. It eventually gets past this point and it doesn't happen again - until you change a setting in the bios...Whats that all about any ideas?

2. I can't seem to get the cpu to do 3x on the HTT (currently at around 1500mhz HTT). Any basic pointers?

3. What exactly is the HTT voltage for? When I had me 4800+ it needed to be set to 1.4v to get over 250mhz FSB but now I thought I'd try putting it back at 1.20v and all is well.

4. Are there any memory settings I can try (advanced ones) that will allow me to do 315HTT or more?

The board is very well cooled, the chipsetmosfets never go over 34c (got a coolermaster crossflow fan there, it is also keeping the ram very cool)

I did try upping the voltage on the mem .1v and it caused graphical corruption at the pci detection screen!!!!

Also my memory doesn't seem to be able to do as tight timings as it could before, it was doing up to 272mhz at 2.5-3-3-8-9-12... on the 4800+. Is it the divider thats doing this?

I'm thinking its the dividers that are causing problems here? is there anything I can do to help things along?

Thanks for any help :)

Rob
