anyone having Xfire problems?

Recommended Posts

I just built my friend a System using this board and he had the money to dish out for the 2 video cards but when we run it in crosfire mode it runs for about 10 to 20 mins then locks up. I've gone thru everything I can think of, ran prime for 10 hours everything else is perfectly stable. I've run the slave card and the master card solo by themselves everything is working but whenever I put it into crossfire just locks up during 3d apps. Was wondering if anyone else has had problems getting it to work. Also the Power supply is only 550watt antec, But I checked all the rails with a Digital meter, everything was ship shape. Also been keeping watch on the GPU temps the Master goes to around 58C on stock cooling at full load and the slave goes to about 45C to 50C, I really don't think that its the Temps. Only thing I can think of is something's wrong with the Cable connecting the 2 outside the case. Or that its something with the Bios. Thinking about flashing it to the First Beta bios since that's what My System is running on, just wondering what you guys think.

What two cards is he running? I think your signature shows your configuration? Which catalysts? But I have not heard of that being a problem except in stuttering during 3d gaming. Is that when it locks?

Run and lock up surely sounds heat related. Have you picked the windows event viewer to clues for what windows says is going on?

I see your using Sapphire cards to run crossfire did you install that trixx software they come with as my card runs at a stable 26 but when i loaded that trixx utility the temp shot up to 50 so i deleted it and the temp went back to 26.
