xPat Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 I just wanted to stop in and say Hi. First time posting on the forum. I've been reading it for a few weeks while I waited for my parts. This forum is just filled with great information and was a great help in setting up my first DFI board. Coming from an overclocking unfriendly Shuttle case the amount of options in the BIOS was overwhelming. But thanks to the stickys and everybody’s post I’m learning The system was a breeze to setup, no problems with memory not working in dual channel, no RAID problems with windows installing. It was a simple go into the BIOS load optimal setting and boot from my Windows XP SP2 CD and load windows. By fare the most trouble free setup I think I have ever experienced. After Windows was setup and all the drivers where loaded I was able to get my sig overclock by simply bumping the FSB to 250 and setting the CPU vcore to 1.425. The system was memtest86+ for 7+ hr and will pass dual super_pi. Currently in the process of prime testing. Now for the Hard part finding the max OC
Guest thespin Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Save your bios settings in all the banks before you start. And also back up your hard disk as configured with a DOS backup like Ghost. You won't be sorry ... Remember to disable CNQ and Thermal Throttling ...
