dinos22 Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 normally the error you are getting is to do with drive config.....try resetting the bios again and have a look at the configuration....try another drive.....check master/slave on the CD drive.....make sure you plug IDE cable end-to-end also try SATA2/3/4 slots for the main OS drive

Guest JustinSane Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Do a clear cmos again, and get back at it. Trying that now. Could it be a bad windows cd? I copied the cd onto my hd, then slipstreamed sp2 into it then burned it.

Guest JustinSane Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Should be fine then, if you did it per according to Angry_games' guide. I checked each setting in Nero like 3 times. His guide was awesome. Im at 10% formatting. I hope this works. If this doesn't work. Should I try updating the bios?
Guest JustinSane Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Oh man. The file shell31.dll was not copied correctly. The file setup placed on your hard drive is not a valid windows xp system image. If you are installing from a cd, there may be a problem with the Windows XP CD. To retry, press ENTER. If you continue to receive this message, contact your Windows XP supplier or system admin. To skip this file, press ESC. Caution: If you skip, setup may not complete and windows xp may not work properly. To quit Setup, press F3. What do I do? EDIT: I kept getting this with a bunch of files but I just kept hitting retry and I got through it.
