Latest BIOS

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

About to put together my system (hopefully this weekend). Received my DFI expert from ZipZoomFly the other day, I don't know the BIOS version, but would you please let me know what is the latest version and where should I download it from? (if I need it, do I need the latest BIOS at all?).

Many thanks in advance, I really appreciate it.

Just to avoid creating a new thread:

"http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/bios_download_us.jsp?PRODUCT_ID=3872&CATEGORY_TYPE=LP&STATUS_FLAG=A&SITE=NA" has the newest offical BIOS. But aren't there supposed to be -1, -2, -3 versions of every bios? Or are those not official at all, but rather romsip-modded BIOSes, and thus not found on DFI sites but in this forum?

Also, Just to be absolutely clear about this, There seems to be no discerning for different versions of the motherbards in the BIOS forum section. Does this mean that a BIOS for "NF4" will work for all Lanparty boards? Just want to make sure I don't accidentally flash a Ultra-D board with a SLi-BIOS or "NF4 Expert" BIOS.

Only use Expert BIOS versions for the 'Expert' MB.

To add to the other link provided... Beta BIOS versions here.

Do read the notice attached to these evaluation versions.

Yow, thanks for replying. :)

For example, I am going to purchase a DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D.

This is the link to those Beta BIOSes:

http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/bios..._FLAG=B&SITE=NA

There are only 1 version of each BIOS there (I suppose that those versions are with Romsip-table that is compatible with the most RAM). But I have seen that some BIOSes have 3 version to them, one for tccd circuits, one for BH-5 and such, and one for maximum compatibility. So I am therefor unclear as to whether these different romsip versions come directly from DFI (and if so, where can they be found?), or if they simply are official BIOSes that people here on the boards have odded with alternate romsip tables that are known to work better with certain RAM.

Also, as you said, "NF4 Expert" BIOSes are on their own. However, can BIOSes for a Lanparty SLi work with an Ultra-D (in other words, do all the BIOSes (official and modded) for the different versions of the Lanparty have a common compatibility (In other words that all BIOSes have support for SLi boards, but that support is simply ignored when flashed to a board with no SLi support).

Just some newb questions, sorry for bothering you, but this is the stuff I need to learn once, after which I can ectually help others asking the same thing. :)
