i think i just got a hot newcastle because i first had the stock heatsink and it went right up too 73c than i got a zalman 7000cl and it still was 68c too 72c than i got this heatsink and it goes too 63max temp with 1.72vcore it around 55c too 57c at 1.67c so it tells you its the cpu. i even reset the heatsink about 5times still the same and i put a drop of actic siver 5 like a grain of rice. i even tried covering the hole core still no change. so im hopeing this cpu will be cooler:) and i be pretty happy with 2.7ghzs:)

I'm just curious as to why they are coming into the market with just a couple 512L2 CPU's for 754. My only thoughts are they are phasing out 130nm production altogether for the 754 and need something to cover the market. Semprons are the biggest bang for the buck, but honestly a 128 or 256L2 doesn't make me want to buy anything. I just sold a Sempron that would do 2.6 because it didn't perform as well as expected and nowhere near as well as my Newcastle at 2.6, which I believe to be the difference in 128 and the 512L2. I'll wait for some results and then make a decision between the venice and the Newark.
