sQuid Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Well Hayk... you asked what it did, not what to set it at !! (only kidding ) Do a forum search on "Errata 123" and you'll get more info than you need...I've seen recommendations for all the options, BUT...According to Rgone (a.k.a. one who knows more than me): "With E stepping 3, 4, 5, 6, set enabled. RGone..."
finagle69 Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 did a test, three runs of everest home read 5661 5647 5646 auto 5853 5801 5801 disabled write 2060 2070 2034 auto 2228 2279 2230 disabled lat. 54.7 54.6 54.6 auto 49.5 49.1 48.7 disabled the numbers with it disabled are closer to the numbers i got when i had my winnie, same ram. those numbers where still a bit better with the winnie though. below are tests with Aquamark3 and 3dmark05 with errata 123 at either AUTO or DISABLED. methinks i'll leave it DISABLED. sQuid Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 finagle : Great work on the benchies! No doubt there is a performance boost with errata 123 disabled. Kev also noticed that on his rig. If bench performance is the ONLY criteria, then yea, disable is the way to go. But not knowing what his rig is used for, or whether or not he NEEDS the cache bug fix, I felt it safer to follow the "official" recomendations. The choice is, of course, his to determine and, as always, YMMV. P.S. For the record, mine is set to disable, too. Luck.
