Slow BT Comet Client Downloads!

i use BitComet to download torrents and stuff but most of the times its sooooooooo slow. i opened ports 6881-6889 on TCP and UDP on my router and on my firewalls and on somedays the download would be at 185kbs and some days it would be around 10. help me plz :confused: :confused:

I believe you need to open the whole range of 6881-6999. Also, open Port 4000 since it's becoming a common "listening" port.

BT varies from minute to minute on speeds. It relies solely on the upload and availability from peer clients. I've watched my BT downloads range from 1kb/s up to 700kb/s within the span of about 1 hour

i was dling LOTR the fellowship and it was 185kbs but then i had to reboot my comp is i was installing a program and after the reboot to now its always been around 0-20kbs. iv also opened the ports that reinvented told me too and still nothing is working.

almost always means you lost your connection to really good peers and now you are pulling off peers that don't have as good upload speeds...just be patient and let it sit and it will finish

BitTornado is the only one i like

 

when you close the client, it will usually require you to open the task manager to stop the process (or reboot either/or) but thats a negative side effect I can live with as I have tried all the other clients and I hate them very very very very much compared to the one minor headache I have with BitTornado

wow I have used bit comet for months and have rarley seen a download faster than 20kb/s can some one help me fix this I don't use a router most of the time just goes straight from the cable thing to my comp.

I have windows firewall set to medium and nvidia firewall set to anti hacking.

you can always try a different BT client to see if that helps

 

i personally hated BitComet but others love it

Everyone should try Burst!...it's just easy and hassle free.

Bittornado, I used to use this one myself.

It's crappy compared to what bitspirit can do though, ie you upload a min of 2x your dl with bittornado, with bitspirit I can get away with up'ing only a few % of my total dl ^^.

 

Ie I take my settings I made for dialup, and on cable it still works lol, that's why.

Hehe, I can dl at min 4 dl's and still play xbox live 4 player halo2 np over a buds on 1mbit cable.

You can't use 1 dl with bittorando with the xbox....

 

I used to use a client called xbt, but god damn that one sucked big time, I would upload like a min of 400% and only have 50% done dl'ing.

Not only that, at say 98% done, I would still take me a week to finish, even though I only had say 2 512k chunks left to get.

 

Bitspirit also see's the most clients and seeds.

 

And it's able to spoof the client name and etc.

 

Much harder to set up then bittornado though so maybe you wanna stick with that one.
