I have the opportunity to buy an opteron 148 cabye 0543 fpmw.

 

Im just wondering how safe it is to use ebay to buy stuff and if that cpu is worth buying. Im a little untrusting about ebay, though the seller has all good reviews and its through paypal. Im not sure how my purchase can be insured and i can be garunteed that i wont get ripped.

i am a long time ebay user, and if you use common sense, like checking out the users feedback, and pay with paypal you should be ok.

just know this, if you ever need to rma, they always will ask you for a invoice, and you might not get rma service if you tell them it was bought on ebay.

i have never had this prob, but its one of the reasons i dont like to buy cpu's on eaby.

if you are caught up in the stepping craze....like i am/was...i would just go newegg or monarch...my stepping from newegg is what i have in my sig, and i am pretty happy.

i didnt get a cabye like i thought i would get...but mine clocks good.

I've had good luck with Ebay. I use paypal and you always check seller's feedback.

I have second thoughts about buying a used cpu. I cant be certain on how overvolted it was and for how long. I know the mistakes that i have done that have caused hell on my hardware, and to recieve a cpu that only has 3 months left on its life discourages me from buying a used one.
