System Spec: Overclocking Recommendations

Hi There,

 

I am a real newbie to all this and have just purchased the following system (yet to be built)

 

A64 3700+ San Diego

Arctic Freezer Cooler 64 Pro

DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D SLI

2GB Corsair Ram (4x512, VS1GBKIT400, Yes its ValueSelect I ran out of budget, but I have heatsinks on them)

P-O-V 256Mb GF 7800GT

250GB SATA 16mb MAXTOR 10

Antec Sonata 2 case with Antec Truepower 450w

Audigy 4

 

Basically I am after some advice of what I can expect to get our of this when overclocking. I know the ram wont overclock much as its cheap!! But has anyone else used the cheap corsair stuff.

 

I hear that the processor should goto 2800 mhz even with air cooling. I know that there is loads of info on this forum but its gazumped me to be honest. I dont want silly performance, just a nice overclock so that the CPU perhaps runs at FX-55 speeds, without killing the ram which is CL2.5 DDR400 rated.

 

Can you give me guidance on what overclock settings I should use. I would just like a nice round figure of 2700, 2800 Mhz etc.

I also am using a SATA drive for the first time is there any difference to setting up a PC with a SATA drive rather than an IDE.
