TroggleHumper Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 There was a fire in my apartment about a month ago and i lost my comp, but luckily i got fire inturence. Any way so now i got my new rig and I've oc it adn it stable with every test but when i play Day of defeat source with HDR on it crashes. I have all the latest drivers and i tried under locking my gfx but it still crashes. Any one have this problem or any ideas. I did not pay $4,000 to not use HDR. OneArmed Badger Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 I have stabilty issues with DOD:s as well. I've been playing a lot of BF2 lately and have no problems at all. But with DOD:s with HDR I get the occasional lock up - but only on the Anzio map.
Confined Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Well thats odd. You have the 512MB 7800GTX! I have the 256MB version. Back when I had my 2GB I could play the game maxed out on Anzio and the FPS would never go below 25 and it sure wouldn't crash...ever. You should flash to the newest BIOS on that SLI-DR and double check to make sure you have all those dual core CPU updates! Good luck. rhimes Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Just built my dual core/dfi expert machine last thursday. At stock speeds, everything seems to run perfectly fine, no issues at all, except DOD:S. I can stress prime/burn k7 for 14 hours+, can run 3dmark 05/03, F.E.A.R, COD2, all sorts of other things, but DOD:S just refuses to play ball - it tends to crash anywhere between 7-30 minutes of gameplay. Yellow/orange slots make no difference. Tried with 2x1g mushkin pc4000@200 spd settings, and currently using my old 2x512 corsair xms3200LL 1.1 (BH5) at stock settings. CPC is on, will try off later tonight. The confusing thing is that it's just this one game -everything else seems to work fine. I've tried a range of settings, put the system up to 10x230 with the corsair(still runs everything else fine) but DOD refuses to play ball. Edit: board came with 02/11 or 25/11 bios, can't recall which & I'm at work... Will try something new - any DFI-Expert recommendations? magey Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Try lost coast, it will probably crash straight away... or very very soon after you start playing.
rhimes Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Just installed 12/07 bios, setup bios exactly as per previous bios, everything seems to be running sweetly. No current issues with DOD:S. Have only played a couple rounds, but this seems to have solved everything. Will report back. if you haven't tried this already, give it a go. edit: there's still crashing issues - but less often now. Lost coast runs fine, no issues, ran through it twice. Will again start to tweak, maybe some more volts will clear it up.
