New build some questions

Recommended Posts

Hi i just built the pc in my sig, and been struggling with it for almost a day now.

First when i try to install my windows xp with sp2 included it hangs on the part when it configuring my network.

Othertimes it stalls also at networks settings but asking for me to insert windows xp service pack disc which i dont have and want some file "cmprobs.dll" or similar.

i've upgraded to the bios andyozc has modified some 720beta, not sure.

Now i've come so far that i can boot up windows but cant get network to work.

Don't know what to do, feels like i tested everything.

Considering installing windows 2000 with sp4, will it work?

Plz help a dfi newbie.

Thx for reply, i inserted the windows xp cd but it wouldn't find the file it promted for. (it froze, dvd wouldn't open)

i tried both nvidia and marvell, the nvidia gets a 169.* ip and the marvell get limited connection .

And since the install off windows didn't find those files (i pressed abort eventually) it wont work to repair the network card.

Are you sure all network settings are setup correct, sounds like settings are not correct for your network. When windows aked about network did you let it set up as typical config or did you config. I know one time I thought I needed to setup network but it wasnt needed an let windows do its thing and everything worked fine.
