Hi guys im doing a favor for my friend, his budget is rather dry, like $550 so i wannna know what could i buy with that much of dough, not all the parts though just the Procs, Mobo, Videocards, and Ram. And there's a catch, the thing is my friend lives in Indonesia so the price aren't exactly the same in US there will be a sum of 25-30% raise in price i think, and do any of you guys know what online comp shop that ships their item to Indonesia ?. Thanks.

NF3 250GB $99

3000+ Sempron $90.00

2 X 512 g skill PC3200 $95

PNY 6600GT AGP $140

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814133137

That leaves some room for the additional costs in Indonesia and would make a sweet system for the money. It might be easier for you to be the middle man in this.

NF3 250, isnt that 754 sockets, and an 8X AGP right. I know its a good value for money but i kinda having a second thougt about buying a 754 mobo, please correct me if im wrong but isnt the 754 model soon to be banished from AMD's roadmap? what will it cost me to upgraded it into a 939 mobo maybe i could use only 1X 512 mb of ram instead of 2X 512.

And are there any late news about Opteron proc, i know it abit late for that but here in Indonesia we have yet to recieves Opteron 939 shipments all harbour are closed during the holiday.

I think the 754 will be gone soon, but thats not stopping me from saving a bundle and build a new comp, I'm on a serious budget you could also try going this route...

This is the mobo I'm about to order for my new rig, upgrading from a barton 2500xp socket A mobo, with a 9600pro here it is:

$75.00 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813136162

DFI-NF4 socket 754 PCI-E

$86.00 sempron 3000 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819104241

$219.00 -19.00 rebate =200.000 Saphire x800GT02, unlock to 16 pipes turn into an x850 PE.. cheap http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102634

Or i'd tell your friend fork out 80.00 more bucks and get you and evga 7800gt video card on a socket 754! thats what im doing.

Then the same ram mentioned before.

an x800gto would be a nice video cards actually, but the price in the states and Indonesia are very different, i buy my leadtek 6600 GT TDH extreme for a whopping $ 250, compare that to the US price only around $170 - $190, man tax is suck in my country, so an x800gto2 will cost me around that price.

Anyway, from what i've heard a 754 mobo isn't by all means a bad choice coz many people still using it, and you still want to buy it, i will certainly think about it, and about the sempron's, are there any bigger speed then the 3000+ and what about its OC ability is it good or is it depens on the mobo.

754 MB is certanly not a bad thing to have on a budget little diffrence really between that and a 939. The 754 is also much more flexable as to PSU and memory. There is also new set of 754 cpu's you might want to keep an eye out as to how they overclcok.

The Semprons are socket 754 and they are not going away that soon...I don't think.

Using the same logic, 939s are going away too, replaced by higher count pin models at some time in the future. Remember that anything you buy today is already obsolete.

What really determines the system is budget as you've specified in your first post. CPMDF has made a very sound suggestion for a good budget system; I trust his advice.

I purchased my socket 754 stuff knowing full well that "the end was near" :D but that was not a concern for me.

@BiffSteel

You know i also think that way, the mobo tech will keep goin forward and we buyers are keep diggin our pockets until its dry, i gues there's no end to that if we keep following the trend it will only consume money more and more. i think i will go with CPMDF's choice i think my friend will find that to be more than adequate for nowadays who need a superfast system if you only use it to play FIFA right?, anyway thanks Guys for giving me a hand at this.
