Alphaking Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I am curious to see what speeds people are running their Ballistix PC 3200. I am currently running stable at 2-2-2-6, IT enabled, 2.6V, a 5/6 divider, FSB 245, 10X multiplier, 2450 mhz. BTW, this is my third set of modules. I ordered matching pairs, 1 went bad and rma'd it (should have did both), was fine for 5 months or so, tested them again and got errors at stock settings, just sent pair back again and got new ones today that appear to run better. I actually got these to boot and run 3D Mark 03 without issues at 215 mhz (1:1). Last pair wouldn't do over 204. Unfortunately, I had 1 stick of my bros corsair xms and was able to run it at 226 mhz without issues at 2-3-2-10. I wish I would have never switched when I upgraded from 2x256 (corsair) to 2x512 ballistix. 3DMark 03 -16,069 3DMark 05 - 7,552 PCMark 02 - CPU 8,042, Memory 12,
pecan Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 A few people including myself have had a terrible time with the Ballistix. I bought 2 sets, hoping to run 2GB. I had to RMA 3 sets and in the end got a refund for one set and went back to 1GB, which is currently running memtest stabe at 2-2-2-6, 1T, 2.6v, 200MHz. I've had the same experience in the past where you run them stable for a few weeks, go back and test them and you get errors. I won't be touching Crucial ever again after this. crispy_chunks Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Yeah alot of people have got problems with thoose ballistix modules, including myself. Wrote an angry email to the people who sold me them, and im getting some OCZ EH ram.. damn thoose ballistix sucked... but good service Reminds me of the time when IBM disks sucked also... a shipment from hungary that went bad after a few weeks

szurlo Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I RMA'd my Ballistix after struggling for a week to get them stable at SLOWER than stock speeds and then having one stick croak all together. Replaced them with OCZ Plat Rev 2. Not a hiccup since I installed them using optimized defaults. But to answer your question, I could never even get 2-2-2-6 out of my ballistix. Best they would do and still pass memetest was 2.5-2-3-6 at 200, 1:1. Also, they would not run at 2.8v. Any higher than 2.6 and I'd get major memtest errors.
