charlie22911 Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 i have a question, hope you guys dont mind... do DFI techs still revise socket A bioses? if so why dont they disable CPC in the U400X-XX bioses? i cant even do 230Mhz stable nor can i run 2x512Mb ram in any configuration at anyspeed at all. but flash a LP B bios and disable and suddenly i can do as much as 271x11 on the FSB and 250x10 (havnt tested higher) in dual channel using 2x512Mb ram. my aim is not to overclock or to run dual channel at this point, just want to have a gig of ram so i can play decent games, and i cant do it. clearly many people who have this board and 2x512 have problems, not just me... so with this in mind, is there any way they can simply disable it, or make the option visable? mabye A_G can ask them about it? smolt Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Hay just a though maybe Tmod can do that for you ?
charlie22911 Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 we have been working on it but it turns out that the U400S uses a completely different BPL from the LP BA and infinity boards we were using as a reference for finding the location of CPC in the bios. so in short, it could be done but its just like finding a glass bead in a haystack the size of a football field. users wont always know to come here with their problems to get a modded bios, and having a offical bios from DFI to fix this would be the best soultion IMHO. Angry_Games Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 trying to get DFI to fix any BIOS is about the same as cutting off your own arm and sending it to yourself... [email protected] is where you need to send an email to request a change in the bios for your board....but don't expect much in reply (but hey they might prove me wrong....)
