Guest shaolin95 Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Hi! I was getting a few boot problems when moving my pc from my pc room to the living room. when booting I was getting an endless loop of long beeps. Well, I normally solved it by removing the memory, video card etc and installing it again. The problem just got worst today as my pc froze while surfing the net and when i tried to boot I got the long beep loop. It seems to me like something is not making contact but I cleaned everything with an air can just to make sure the mem slots and video card slots where clean and making contact. What can be wrong? AFAIK, mem should be the issue with those long beeps but I dont think both sticks are going to be defective at the same time nor they show any errors when mem tested or during game time. I really think is a mobo problem but will appreciate any input.
learners permit Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Try memory timings 2.5,3,2,7 to alleviate some of the load on your cpu's controller and see if that helps. Small changes to the ram timings hardly effect BW of the modules and are not noticeable in everyday use except for the added stability. CPDMF Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 What did you ever make of that wall socket deal? The 5v on the neutral line deal. Was your computer hooked up to that feed for any length of time.

Was your computer hooked up to that feed for any length of time. Well, it was there where I use to watch movies but before I got the new memory. The VX has been working perfectly I dont even think it will accept a 2.5 cas. besides, it wont even boot to bios. going from 2-2-2-5 to those timings will be the equivalent of changing my vx for some generic value ram

I wouldn't want to run 2.5 either. Have you primed it yet to make sure your OC isn't losing a step or two. I know you are already kicking some pretty good voltage to the memory but does it respond to more or less volts.
Guest shaolin95 Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I am running stock 3.3 with great cooling keeping it under 29ºC much lower than the recommended OCZ of 50ºC. I dont run full OC from bios only partial, and then go full speed under windows using Clockgen to prevent OS damage as much as possible. In other words my boot speeds are prime stable. CPDMF Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Got any memory that will boot up at low volts but you don't mind putting over 3 to? Only way I can think of to test the power regulation circuits of the board. I have 2 X 256 BH5 that I will occasionally throw in with a sense modded PSU for some bench runs but have just gotten so used to TCCD that it's never in there for very long.. Guest shaolin95 Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I was able to hit 267 without voiding warranty by using more than 3.5v
