How to make my board boot from SATA disk instead of EIDE

Recommended Posts

Guys i am encountering a pretty frustrating problem.I just added a new sata disk, everything ok so far.Formatted the disk, installed windows and system boots fine from the sata disk. But as soon as i add my previous eide disk wanting to use him as a secondary disk...the systems tries to boot from that one(that one also has a corrupted windows installation on it,but i dont want to format it before saving some important data it has).I changed the jumper to slave position, attached the cable to slave position as well...i am using the turbo bios.In the boot sequence settings i have "sata or scsi boot-sata,primary boot floppy, secondary boot cdrom, third boot hdd-0,boot other device enabled. If i disable boot other device and third boot, the system gives me a "disk boot error" when it tried to boot and it promts me to reset...how am isupposed to solve this prob!thanks in advance doods
