Smefeman Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 ok, so i just got my new comp a few days ago and im pretty excited about overclocking it. My system specs are below. i was just wondering what kind of overclock i could get on my standard cooling. its winter in NJ and the ambient temp probably wont go over 64F (around 18C). I'm aiming to not go over like 50C at load (actually, is it dangerous to go over 50C? my old athlon XP had no problem doing it..) anyway if anyone could give me some input that would be great. thanks

Its hard for us to tell you how it will clock on stock cooling.. Every chip is different and the only way to know is to clock it .. For temps you are best to keep the load under 50c.. Reinvented Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 YMMV with those CPU's. I just HAD to get one when they first came out, and it was good...until i ended up with a busted set of pins. Other than that, it clocked well at low volts. It was a week 15 cpu. Did up to 2.9 windows boot, at 1.59v, primed and semi-stable at 2.85 (285x10). Normally the later cpu's (probably such as yours) will yield you about 2.7-ish give or take. Which is still good! Good luck though! Also, why use a TT big water? Aluminum = bad!
