Need CPU recommendation

I am building a new pc for my folks and am planning to swap my old winny into theirs and take the new processor...so What amd chip under $215 is the best for oc'ing right now? I have read alot about the 14x opertons...thanks in advance

 

also, will the 14x 939 opterons work with my memory?

edit: forgot to answer your question, the mem you got (2 x 512MB OCZ PC4000) will work like a charm with either one

I have heard the opteron is a better overclocker (not to mention it has 1mb cache and opterons are more badass)..also i found it at monarch for $207

You will want better cooling with an Opteron. Trust me, I got two.

 

Your ram should work fine. My CH-5s act phenominally well with both my Opterons. (not sure if your on Winbond UTT CH-5 or BH-5) Just never use your cpu at stock vcore when the ram is over 3.3v(conservative estimate). This according to a thread by an OCZ employee. The voltage can overflow the diodes in your cpu and ruin your memory controller. Degrade if not eventually destroy.
