Guest thespin Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 I see instances of topics that have been *MOVED* (to another DFI Forum I assume). And I see other topics marked [RESOLVED]. How does one make these changes?
Trevor Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 You need to be a moderator or have administrative privileges.
Guest thespin Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Wouldn't it improve things if the person who started the topic also had this privilege ? I propose this as a suggestion ...
PC1X1 Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 in an Utopia sure, however some illicit users, would screw everything up.
Angry_Games Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 in an Utopia sure, however some illicit users, would screw everything up. lol there's a reason why only mods/admins are able to do certain things...
Fight Game Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 ya, really.... somebody that just wanted to be an idiot, for whatever reason, could come and mark them all as resolved, and move them to the obvious wrong place. Angry_Games Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 THIS IS THE SUGGESTION: that ONLY THE PERSON WHO CREATED THE TOPIC have those privileges ... here's a suggestion become a mod or admin and then you can make the rules Charlie: you can edit your thread and posts, but you cannot edit the titles
Guest thespin Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Wasn't trying to make any rules, AG; just trying to be helpful. That's not a crime, is it ? How many 'resolved' topics have been marked 'resolved' and who better than the topic starter knows better when it's resolved ? And who is more motivated to so mark it when that ugly headache is cured and he is all smiles ?
red930 Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Only the Admin and Mods change the thread titles. We monitor the threads for completeness before marking them [RESOLVED]. You may have noticed that there are many threads that seem to be resolved that never get the tag. This is because there are several ways to resolve a problem in some cases and many times another solution will be posted in a thread that has not been marked [RESOLVED]. Any forum member can PM a Mod and request the tag.
Angry_Games Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 better yet, you should always start reading in the Rules/Announcements section first...if you had, you would have seen this: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=
