Help Me -ashwin0003

Recommended Posts

I have a amd xp2400+

My motherboard support 333mhz fsb

now iam running at 133mhz(double pumping which makes it effectively 266mhz)

with a multiplier 15 so i get 2000mhz clock speed

If i change fsb to 166(double pumping which shud make it effectively 333mhz)

and decrease multiplier to 12 i shud get 2000mhz clock speed

but i dont know wat the results wud be and wat wud i need to do

like increasing voltage etc

never overclocked

Can u guys help me

My motherboard MSI-KT4V(via kt400 chipset)

My processor amdxp2400+

512 mb ddr ram

Well if you change your FSB to 166Mhz (memory would actually be 332Mhz) and the multiplier to 12 you would actually have your proc clocked at 1.992Ghz (but in windows it would be recognized as 2.0Ghz) which is correct :)

But test your system for stability and tempatures after you change those settings. I would recommend playing a high end game (UT2k3 or something similar) for about 2hrs or whatever you prefer to test the temps and stability.

Thx guys but

Tried this and got probs

Tried to increae fsb to 166 frm 133

n decrese multiplier to 12 frm 15

n didnt change anything

shud get a 2000 before n after change

But still pc crashed

monitor blank(not even the no signal error and the light for power button on)

keyboard not working(no numlock etc)

had to remove cmos jumper and return to 133*15

I dont understand it

166*12 == 133*15

Do i need to change any voltage stuff

Plz tell me something safe/refer me to any guys who had some probs like this /any links
