Kirbs Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Try enabling your USB mouse in the bios but don't plug it in until after you have booted into windows. I currently have to unplug and re-insert my mouse after Windows has booted before it will recognise that there is a mouse present. It's only been since I installed the new 6.2 drivers from ATI, that includes the Southbridge drivers, that the system has recognised my mouse properly and loaded the Razer drivers. Prior to that it was running on the Microsoft mouse driver.
MetaMaverick Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Surprised no one said this yet, get the latest BIOS. It fixes A LOT of problems and quite possibly some of them that you are experiencing.
MetaMaverick Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I had a similar problem with this setting before I updated my BIOS. So my guess is, that the BIOS is at fault. You really want to have version 12/23/2005 installed it fixed a lot of the hang-ups encountered. After I flashed I had no problem with enabling/disabling my usb kb and mouse; they worked with either setting... It polished up a lot of other things as well; you will be happy
nbillo Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Thanks Metamaverick, Just got home so I can now have a go at trying to solve it, I've downloaded the latest BIOS so that's my first job. Do hope this board will be ok, I want the X1900XT crossfire setup next.
fhein Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 I have both USB KDC Support and USB Mouse Support set to DISABLED in bios and my computer works great Using a Logitech diNovo + Razer Copperhead, so that's two USB keyboards and two USB mice without any problems Though the Logitech setup cheats a little by having a PS/2 keyboard plug so I can use the kb in BIOS.
