You can see my system below, I want to OC my Rig a bit but dont know where to start. I know basics about oc'in But let say i want to go for 2.5GHz on my 3200. I will have to raise the FSB speed to 250X10=2.5Ghz But here is my Question: Will raising the bus speed like that put stress on any other components? What is the best way to go about this? Thank you!

Oh and stock temps are:

CPU 30c-37c max --core volts 1.53

SYS 34c

GPU 43c-60c max

Follow the Guide it'll help you understand alot better AMD64 not about fsb and htt oc its a balance of FSB to cpu multi to LDT multi to mem ratio/timings and all the voltages not just vdimm and vcore read guid to better understand it, I just read it today and tryed all kinds of variations of what it detailed and now system running nice bar a couple of things but thats on my why/how/fix list prob next bios will remedy anyways again GUIDE hehe GL. oh and studdy the Mem timing guid sumerise it and print it out should only take 6pages that way thats how i did it to help with setting timings very helpfull.

anyways again GoodLuck

Hi

I would start with sorting out the max speed of your CPU first and not worry about the RAM just yet, the guide will give you an excellent start.

When you have found the max speed of the CPU then the fun will begin. I would then try and find the max speed of your RAM again using the guide as linked above. When you have found these 2 seetings then the fun of putting them togther begins.

I would suggest for a beginner , as I was 3 months ago, that you read the RAM section and then set your RAM to the loosest settings possible as per the guide then slowly begin to tighten them.

It has taken me a while ( 4 - 5 weeks) to get my RAM somewhere where I am happy with it and this equates to about 70 - 80 different settings and testing. Ideally this is the way to go as there are no real short cuts and also it will give you much better understanding of your own system and also what your RAM can achive and what effect the different setting will have on it.

I know that there are some links etc available and you should read these as they will help you understand much more and will also give you some settings to try but at the end of the day all you can really do is to test your own system and see where you can get it.

Testing is part of the fun and when you get there you will have the satisfaction that YOU did it, no one else and that means a lot believe me.

Hope this helps
