bleek Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Well i have a problem with my crap*ng computer, it's always freezing whenever i'm playing, or watching a movie and even when i'm listening to music. Normaly it takes only 10 to 15 minutes to crash. I don't know what the hell is going on, i tried changing my graphic card but its the same. I run S&M, MemTest and SuperPi 32m and sometimes they finish running and sometimes my pc just freezes. There are times when after booting the damn pc it crashes or when i'm surfing the web... its really annoying, i cant do . with the pc like this :@ Any sugestions? I would really apreciate your help. Thanks My Specs: AMD Athlon Barton 2600+ DFI Lanparty NF2 Rev B 512 Kingston DDR400 IDE 80G Seagate and SATA2 Hotachi 80G Geforce 5200
kitfit1 Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Bleek, post up all your bios settings relating to ram and cpu. Without that info it's impossible to help without guessing.
Clay Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Bleek what kinda' heat ya' got there?(I've seen hdd's overheat and do that, graphic's cards too) Then is yer' psu up to snuff? My best advice right now would download everest home. Are you overclocking? Kitfit's right we are not psyhic. The more detail's you post the more feedback you'll get the more likely someone will see it. And go, "here it is". (could be a driver problem too.) bleek Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Well i my memory is set to Optimal mode, my CPU clock = 165Mhz, AGP clock = 66Mhz, CPU ratio = 10, DDR Ram clock defined by SPD, all the voltages are auto.... Did this info help? or need anything else?

Did this info help? or need anything else? No it did'nt help that much really, is your cpu a Mobile 2600? If it is set the cpu voltage to 1.5v and post the readings that are actually in your bios, ie 11-2-2-2-2 ect.
bleek Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 No it did'nt help that much really, is your cpu a Mobile 2600? If it is set the cpu voltage to 1.5v and post the readings that are actually in your bios, ie 11-2-2-2-2 ect. is a athlon XP 2600+...unlocked...(in the future i want to overclock the cpu). and post the readings that are actually in your bios, ie 11-2-2-2-2 ect. i guess tha is the memory timmings... in moment i see in cpu-z "frequency - 165.4mhz" , "fsbdram - 1:1" , "cas#latency - 2.0 clocks", "ras#to cas# delay - 3clocks", "ras# precharge - 2clocks" and "cycle time (tras) 6clocks" if that dont help say something....i want to solve this problem quick...i can do anything in this situation in my pc see ya
medianOCer Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Take a look at my signature below this thread. It would be best for you, me, and everyone else here if you'd at least put together a signature in that manner, and with at least as much detail (i.e. - all components, brands, model numbers, specs, BIOS date/version and etc.). You could compose a sig more complex than mine, with the addition of what timings, multipliers, frequencies, voltages, temps, and so on, that you are using currently. Example of additional info, which I'm currently running - CPU - 1.7v, 10x, 233MHz(466DDR), APIC Enabled, ACPI (HAL) changed, Virus Warning Disabled, Thermal Throttling Disabled, Spread Spectrum Disabled RAM - 3.1v, 233MHz(466DDR), Expert-Aggressive-Expert 9-2-2-2-2.0 11-12 2-3-3-3-3-3-3 Enabled-Enabled-Fast-Enabled Auto~ NB(chipset) - 1.7v, System Caching Disabled AGP - 1.6v, 67MHz, 8x Enabled, Fastwrites Enabled, Aperture 128MB, Spread Spectrum Disabled, Caching Disabled Temps(reported via software readings) - CPU 33 deg C, AGP 40 deg C, NB 28 deg C, HDD1 34 deg C, HDD2 22 deg C (all temps reported are idle) PSU(via multimeter) - +12v1 11.97v, +12v2 11.99v, +5v 5.15v, +3.3v 3.35v (all voltages are at idle, if you're having problems then load voltages ought to be measured also, if you can get them at load) I'm hardly trying to be harsh on you either. It just helps us all out when there's much more information, for any of us to look at, in order for anyone to help figure out where you're having issues. It really assists in the narrowing down process of things to look at, as well as areas where we may have less of a need for consideration. Best to you, medianOCer
bleek Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 so for now that i dont have much time i put only this info... medianOCer Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Np bleek. Thanks for increasing the info related to the components in your computer. If you would, please put that in your signature. What's the model name, exact model number and revision (if there are any revisions) of your memory/RAM? Is it just one stick of 512MB, or 2 x 256MB? Back later, median
TheWizzard Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Could also be a PSU matter maybe. How strong is that one. Especially focus on the volt rails. You can check with a utitily as mbm or hardware doctor, or plain and simple from the bios. Did you attach the 12v cable onto the board? And of course, as said by our fellow dfi-ers, check the mem timings and vddr and vdd volts.
medianOCer Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 bleek - Are you still around? Made any progress yet? Just curious.
