Forceware 6.82 or 6.70

Recommended Posts

6.70 says it's for AMD platforms, 6.82 says AMD/Intel16.

I noticed that the individual drivers are the same ones (ie SMBus driver 4.45, RAIDTOOL 5.52) except for the Ethernet driver and the Network management tools, which are newer.

Which ones should I install? Perhaps a combination of both?

I believe those two driver sets are for two different chipsets.

6.70 is for the NF4, NF4 Ultra, and NF4 SLI chipsets

6.82 is for the brand new NF4 x16 which allows the two graphics slots to each have 16 lanes.

Since your sig says you have the SLI-D I would recommend the 6.70. I have been using them for about a week without complaint.

Anyone run any benchmark comparisons with 6.66 vs 6.70? I was running a SuperPi 1mb bench in about 33 seconds, now with 6.70 I am running at around 35 seconds. Games seem to play smoother but I noticed that SuperPi took a slight hit. I did not compare any other benchmarks but just ran the 1mb test to compare pre and post.

Anyone else take a performance hit?

There is no 6.70 package for AMD64 systems.

6.69, not 6.70 - You're right of course. My bad

Still, let's stick with the topic. 6.82 or 6.70 (suggestions for alternatives are of course welcome)
