How high is too high?

Recommended Posts

How high is too high in terms of hypertransport.

I've been running my HT at 1200mhz 300x4

I wan't to know if this is too high and if I should lower it, or if I can push more.

Allso, how can this effect system hardware performance and If it may cause any problems such as failing disk drives.

yeah, thanks I forgot that that thread was there lol.

Ok, so as long as it boots by what that guide says, I should be allright.

So with my HTT at 300x4 LTD = 1200x2 = 2400 Hypertransport

This realy doesn't hurt the system?

I'de wrather not run it at x3LTD =900x2 = 1800 Hypertransport

And I don't want to run a divider since I got DDR600 anyways and don't need it.

The only affect it will have on your system is stability.

The lower number would not hurt your performance.

What would a divider have to do with it?

advantage of using a divider is to keep ur timing's tight, E.g im running on air so for me tight timings and small CPU OC is better performance than loose timings and bigger CPU OC, there is no penalty for using a divider, as for HTT should be kept between 1800 and 2200 to be more stable, there is no performance benefit in going over 1000 HTT!

Testing has showed that anything between 600-1000 (or 1200-2000) HTT is best, and there's no difference in performance from 600-1000, but anything over, has showed instability. Test yourself to confirm.
