Cactus Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I've got the exact same memory and board as you. I had problems to begin with also: Geil Value hates the yellow slots with the Bios that ships on the board. It also hates any bios above 316 if you plan to do anything but stock settings. This memory has to be run at 3-4-4-8 @ 200Mhz, it will run at 2.5-3-3-7 but only at 180Mhz and below. Currently I'm back on 316 using orange slots and the mem is running at 220Mhz. so it's possible with some tweaking. Leads me to a question I have - can the yellow slots be used on the later bios? I thought they weren't dual channel on the early bios. Edit - forgot to mention this: Geil Value has a voltage range of 2.75-2.95v. Mine's running at 2.90v since i had some interesting boot problems at the stock setting.
Nvening Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 so what settings do you have? The same as the ones said earlyer?
Nvening Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I have tryed all the settings and checked them, it does not help, and i still get thousands of errors in mem test.

Nvening Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I got over 2000 mem test errors still with those settings, less than last time but it was running for less time so you cant really go by that lol
Sharp Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Now would be a good time to consider a replacement. Can you test the memory modules in another PC? If not return them.
Nvening Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I may be able to try them in another pc, ill ask my mate.
Nvening Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I tested the ram on a a friends pc and it went one pass on mem test fine, so i guess it is fine, at least alot more than it was on my board lol So unless and one else has got any other setting i could try i shall contact the company and see what they say Because, someone above said that they have the same ram and board as me and they got it to work. So, it may just be the batch that my ram came from (as far as i could tell it was both dimms that did not work.)
Sharp Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Yes your batch may have chips that do not work with the DFI board. That is why Value ram is not recommended. (As Value ram tend to feature different brand chips per batch).
Nvening Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Is there a number i can get to see if it is a different batch?
