getterflash Report post Posted November 14, 2005 Sunon 40mmX40mmX10mm, ball bearing. Bolt-on replacement. Be carefull when installing the screws, they are easy to strip, there is not much material in contact with the threads. I used a little blue Loctite to hold them. My stock fan lasted two weeks, the Sunon fan has been going strong for a couple of months now.
tea_cooler Report post Posted November 15, 2005 Ok thanks. Is there other alternative ? I live in a small town and can't find Sunon fan.

Webdev511 Report post Posted November 29, 2005 I just replaced mine today with a Vantec Iceberq (copper) I got at Fry's You may get a little warning with the nb fan emiting an intermittent squeel. I've had more of those 40mm fans go out than I care to remember. One on my 4600ti was pretty peeved about that one.
warrior420 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 i just put a little WD40 on the stock fan every few weeks and its starts right back up.. that fan is fine.. just there is no lube.. if you want a cheap and easy way... this is the one.. btw.. only a little little squirt under the sticker and then manually turn the fan until it goes good.. blow on it if you feel happy.. im to lazy to buy a new fan for it... getterflash Report post Posted December 1, 2005 I did just what you describe for a couple of weeks, but I was tired of pulling the pc out of the cubbyhole, opening the side, removing the fan, lubing it, then putting everything back. The $5 fan took care of it.
