dfimonkey Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Im having the same problem. I cant remember if I installed the USB drivers from the cd or not, but I didn uninstall the Host Controller in my Control Panel (Under "Universal Serial Bus Controller" It still takes me about 2-3min to transfer about 100mb of songs to my Sandisk Sansa MP3 player. This player supports USB 2.0, and the usb plug that its plugged into support USB 2.0. My bios is set to 2.0/1.
dotnima Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Whoa I completely misread your post the first time. OK I did what you said and it seems to detect USB2 just fine... But it still seems ridiculously slow. Is there a way to measure how fast it's actually transfering or something? Thanks for all the help by the way It takes about 4 minues to fill up my 1GB OCZ Rally flash drive from my mobo USB ports. But different flash drives are faster than others. poonone Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Here's what I did if it helps anyone in the future: I went to the device manager (Right Click on my computer > hardware tab > device manager button) I went to the second grouping of "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" I right clicked on the item that contained the words "USB Advanced Host Controller" I went to properties > driver > update driver I chose not to have windows search for me I chose "Install from a specific location" I chose "don't search. I will chose the driver to install" I selected "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" (Previously it was using something like "PCI Class USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller") Clicked Next and Boom problems solved.
