WindowsXP 64 Issues Install

Recommended Posts

Tried Raid 0 on the 3112 with no luck.

I verified that I can get it to work using the 3112 in Non-Raid config.

So at this point I'm assuming it's either a RAID issue with this MOBO or a driver issue with XP64 and the controllers on this MOBO.

Either way I'm dissapointed. The drivers are there. They are available. They are not "beta" or unsupported. I'm not overclocking anything or asking it to do anything it's not supposed to.

Whyze, My experience has been identical to yours. I did the same thing you did as well as a few other tricks. No luck here either. I gave up on it myself.

Sticky the solution when one is found please.

I've made progress!

Went back to the 3114 controller, using 5&6.

Set the BIOS setting to RAID "SATA RAID 0,1,0+1,5" for the 3114 controller.

Used THIS Driver:

http://www.siliconimage.com/docs/3114_x86_...4_raid_1231.zip

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows Setup found it and I've got XP64 up and running as we speak.

Perhaps worth noting, I'm getting a "404 Not Found" error from the ATi website for the "South Bridge driver package" at http://support.ati.com/ics/support/DLRedir...=737&deptID=894

-------------------------------------------

So, these driver did Not work for me (I'll list them for reference, and so that perhaps someone else will have better luck with them if nothing else works):

http://www.siliconimage.com/docs/3114_64_lraid_logo_1006.zip

http://www.siliconimage.com/docs/3x12r_64_logo_1005.zip

http://us.dfi.com.tw/Upload/Driver/Sil3114_x64drv.exe

Best of luck to you.

And thanks so much for those who've helped.

If I come up with any updates, I'll post...

interesting, glad you got something to work. Unfortunatly i don't have the luxury of not using the 3112. I've already got 3 os's on this array.

I too can't get the SB package to download. Looks like whoever posted it screwed up and put a space after the file name and before the .exe

if you manually try and edit it, you get bumped to an anti-leech page.

I know this topic is a bit old but it's the only one that seems to address sil3112 and x64 not seeing the raid. I was wondering if anyone has gotten that combination to work? I've been through just about everything that Whyze went through, but i've only managed to get 32bit windows to rcognize the raid. So i'm pretty sure its not the raid, but still nothing is detected in x64 using drivers from SI's site and a couple other's from the web.

Well, i've tried everything i can think of but still no luck with 3112 in x64:( Out of curiosity i installed 32bit win to bench a raid on the 3112 vs the same raid on the 3114. i guess it's easier to show you so here

3112vs31142an.th.jpg

The blue line is the 3114 chip and the red is the 3112, it looks to me like the 3114 has no bandwidth like its on a standard pci slot so its peaked solid around 72MB/s.

As for 64-bit drivers, i've found that if you have the 3114 chip set to "SATA RAID" in the bios then you use the 3114_64_lraid_logo_1006 driver from Sil's site, if it's set to "SATA RAID 0,1,01,5" then use the 3114_x86_win64_raid_1231 driver as Whyze did. Except for the raid 5 option i didnt see a performance difference.

5.12 drivers? do you mean from ati or the sil3512(which uses the same driver as 3112)? or did i miss something, i thought ati's SB package was just windows drivers(or nothing to use during windows install), please correct me if i'm wrong as I would like to take advantage of the speed difference in chips.

Guest reg

i found the sil image driver worked on 3114 raid0 but was incredibly slow, when installed i could get the ati 3112 driver in but my raid falls apart if i try to swap them. i cannot get an f6 install to work on the 3112 using ati,dfi or sil image drivers, all say cannot see any hard drives.

the performance on the 3114 was so bad im back on 32 bit untill i find an f6 insalable floppy for the 3112 controler
