Tiger Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I think that it's time to release a new Bios version A lot of people will RMA this board if a new Bios does not come out  My italian friends included  cya
pheoniXfury Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 lol yeah...I know what u mean tiger. but just off the record, my system has been stable for several days now :shake: FSB=270 DRAM=225 (or whatever it is cus CPUZ stopped working) still running CAS2.5 however. Ran CS source for hours at a time...and I love the performance of the X1800XL...still working on overclocking that badboy but it's completely random and it won't take more than 1.175 of juice...it's almost like it's designed to shut off the core if voltage goes to 110+%. I have my USB mouse support in BIOS disabled...which got rid of the 4 led problem completely...and I'm just another happy camper! cus I know as new BIOSes come out, it's only gona get better. cdpdesign Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I have just bought a new DFI Lanparty UT RDX200 CF-DR along with a Sapphire Radeon X850 Crossfire Edition Master Card. I assembled everything, installed WinXP, rebooted then the board was dead. All I get is 4 LED's. No output to monitor at all. I have tried different processor, ram, graphics card, (and tried my items on another board ~ they all work fine.) all I can think it is the board. Cannot get into BIOS to check anything. The board is a Rev A03 Is there anything I can do or is it a RMA? My set up is as follows: DFI Lanparty UT RDX200 CF-DR Sapphire Radeon X850 Crossfire Edition Master Card Athlon x2 4200 3 dvd drives (1 read 2 write) 2x maxtor 300gb SATA 1x maxtor 200gb SATA 5 case fans Crossflow fan Zalman cooler Antec Truepower 580w PSU etc... Any help would be greatly appreciated...... Thanks CDPdesign.
Mize Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Have you done a cmos clear and tried to bood with your memory (which memory are you using?) in different slots or just a single dimm?? Do a full cmos clear (15 sec) and try a single dimm.
pheoniXfury Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 have you tried a PS2 keyboard and mouse? You would notice in the previous posts that USB mouse is having an issue on the board. I you can get it to pose using PS2 KB/mouse...disable the USB mouse support option in the bios and everything should be fine. This will still allow u to use ur mouse in windows. A lot of people have had success with this workaround...if it doesn't work...I'd probably return it for another one. If you can get it to POST with that method...upgrade to the beta BIOS...which seemed to address a few key issues. Good luck.

Mussels Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Just like to say something: My brother had all sorts of problems with his crossfire not booting without a hard power off, and he solved his by fiddling with the boot settings. (you know, what device boots in what order) So to those haunted: Have a go at those settings, see if it helps! P.S. no i havent read this whole thread. i dont have my own CF-DR board, i'm merely reporting something that may help.
doubleyouk Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Look in the manual and find the location of the jumper for use 5Vstandby for PS2 mouse/keyboard and jumper it to 5Volt stanby mode and then it will shut off if your are using PS/2 mouse or keyboard. RGone... aiai.. well thxs rgone, your were right about the ps2 mouse /usb support. i add the ps2 mouse, and my board was working normal. but...after i disabled the usb support in bios, now my mobo. is completly dead. really a pity. i really was happy with everything working. now i returned the mobo for an rma. and waiting whats going to happen. when i read all the stories about the crossfire dfi mobo. i am having doubts. already am looking for a different brand, but still giving the dfi suplieer a chance. hope to receive a new board, or my old one fixed, and with a good working bios. lets wait how this story ends. i`ll let you all know. this is in the netherlands, dont see many users from here. till later. cdpdesign Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Have you done a cmos clear and tried to bood with your memory (which memory are you using?) in different slots or just a single dimm?? Do a full cmos clear (15 sec) and try a single dimm. Tried that, I'm using ps2 mouse and keyboard, I ahve tried using just 1 stick of ram, (had ram, processor, graphics card, & power supply tested) Infact, I spent nearly 18 hours trying every possible combination available, still 4led's! I ended up ringing DFI in the netherlands, and found out that this is a very common fault with this board. Apparently, It needs returning to DFI (at your own cost!!!) to have the EEPROM re-flashed! (well that's what the guy at DFI told me) So I opted to return the board back to aria, that alone cost me £19 in poatage, so imagine what it would cost to send it to the netherlands!!! I just wish now that I had simply RMA'd it in the first place then I wouldn't have had to spend 2 weeks using this old p3 600 that is sooooo slow!!! Thanks guys for your help. Zanr Zij Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 I've just tested my DFI RDX200 CF-DR board with X2 3800+... If open everest and show your hardwares by it, immediately restart the systems even @ DF. Allmost 4 LED pause and system no boot ( decrease led = boot )... I'll report some others problems later... Can't compare NF4 Expert....:|
