chambersc Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 hey, I just got a antec neopower 408w from a member on hardforums. It has all the cables and such but how the hell do I connect it to the mobo? http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20832 setp #7, it's the one on the far left. the PSU doesn't have that. how do I use that with the neopower. It doesn't seem to have one of those...I'm pretty sure he included all accessories. any help?
Guest SPQQKY Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 That's a floppy drive connector, you should definately have one of those.
EEMAIN Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Thats the floppy connector. Any floppy connector will do.
chambersc Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 I got a lot of power cords and 4 bags of accessory heads ( serial ata connector x2, peripheral power connector x2). it has some weird plastic things i've never seen before. this modular PSU is different than im used to dealing with, that's why I ask. sniggle Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 ...or another computer laying around that you can hook the floppy drive up to (for power), and then the data cable to your DFI. i've had to do that twice with this pcp&c 510 because of the one FDD connector. chambersc Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 idk what FDD is but how about this. Can I use a BARE system (case + in win PSU) to power my regular case's floppy drive? can I use the floppy drive connectors from that bare case for my mobo in a diff computer? Is it possible? will it mess up my computer? EDIT: ok, to clarify, I wanna use my inwin x710's power psu to ONLNY power the floppy connector on the mobo and the floppy drive. can i? sniggle Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 we posted at around the same time, so in case you didn't see #8, the answer is yes. edit: i would NOT use it to power the mobo as well. that sounds like trouble. only powering the floppy drive works fine though. chambersc Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 alright, I thought in your post you were saying that I could use my floppy connector and the main trunk from the PSU of my INWIN. what you REALLY said was that I can use my neopower 480w for the trunk and such and just the floppy connectors from the inwin. Glad I took the DFI plunge. now, to only figure out how to dual channel my mushkin 222 special ram
