4x512mb bllistix going to work in my motherboard?

Recommended Posts

decided to scrap the generic junk in my sig for some quality pc4000 ballistix. now my idea is to run 4 512 sticks together on the ultra-d with a venice 3200.

am i right in thinking ill be able to run this ram at 200mhz properly at 1t? not worried about overclocking as long as it will work at stock speeds. im under the impression that the venice cored cpu's will be ok with this?

cheers

Despite running 2T with 4X512 sticks the fact is that 4X512 out preform 2X1GB sticks if you need proof search the web I am speaking from experience. Using Memory Ranging from G.Skill to Kingston, Corsair and Mushkin. I have never used Ballistix but RAM is RAM when you speaking about how a set number of sticks work, Timmings on Corsair XMS series with 4x512 2-2-2-5 2T at 400mhz, the same stuff in GB sticks 3-3-3-8 still at 2T and at 333Mhz granted I didnt attempt to overclock either but thats just to provide an example.

well i thought it was fine to run at 400mhz with the venice cores as these had better memory controllers, and were capable of running 4 sticks at 200mhz. i also thought because of this 4 sticks might run at 1t.

with the older winchesters etc it ran at 333mhz and 2t.

anyone tell me for sure please?
