linczs2000 Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Please see the page which I type below, especially the third reply http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/bo...cending&page=15 I quote the main point of it A problem was identified on nForce4 based systems where the system ran into difficulties, related to the enumeration of the cards with 2MB (X-Fi XtremeMusic and X-Fi Platinum). This resulted in a variety of symptoms: - The system may freeze or not boot - The system may list multiple "Unknown PCI Device" entries and lead to a BSOD - The system may reboot repeatedly (when "Automatically Restart" is enabled in the Advanced system settings) Some motherboard manufacturers have already acknowledged this issue and released a BIOS update to resolve it. For systems where a BIOS update is not available we will be providing an alternative resolution in the form of a replacement card with modified firmware. Please contact Customer Support for your region for further details I have try your bioses, only the bioses which are later than 623(include 623) can recognise the X-FI But those bioses still cause my system random reboot Can DFI release new bios for this problem? Thank you
Boppo Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Last I heard they were not. Contact Creative for the "alternate solution".
Psyclone Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 What a surprise a Creative SoundBlaster product causes problems, if there is any company that could challenge Microsoft on the winner of the "doesn't play well with others" award it is Creative. I don't think they've ever introduced a product that wasn't incompatible with something, and of course it is always the "other guys" fault. :tooth:

My OS is a fresh install I think the 623-3 bios which just make the X-FI to operate on DFI NF4 But if you keep your ystem up for days(not for hours),you may encounter the random reboot problem. I think DFI should consider to release new bios to solve this problem, instead of saying the 623-3 is OK

Lone Gunman Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 My X-Fi experience has gone swimmingly so far... Same here, my Fatal1ty card is only a couple weeks old so it could have the latest Creative BIOS.
MaxT Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 It doesn't affect fatality or elite cards anyway. Problem was with the music and platinum versions only.
