pinoy Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 hey guys need help overclocking so far i've got my 3200+ venice to 2.4ghz @ 1.45v the cpu seems stable as it would freeze @ 1.4v i've got it set @ 240*10 htt x4 and agp @ 67mhz i'm having trouble keeping the memory stable though... i have 2 sticks of corsair 512mb XMS pc3200 C2 ram rated for 2.5-3-3-6 but can do 2-3-3-5 @ 200mhz 24/7 stock voltage etc. now i'm using a 166 divider and CPU-Z reads the ram @ 201mhz in dual channel their also mounted in the orange slots and atm the timmings are 2.5-4-4-8 2T i'm using the 711 bios i tried setting all the timmings manually like trrd, tras, trfc etc. computer seems ok in super pi, 3dmark05 sandra soft...except for prime95 its unstable... btw because my ran is @ 200mhz wouldn't i be able to run 2.5-3-3-6 normally? pinoy Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 thanks for that some settings were different, did he make one for the nf3 board? atm pretty stable, everything is fine cept prime95 atm memory test fails something about 0.5 but receieving 0.4 :S super pi is good etc. btw the guide said to bump the dram voltage to 2.8v stock is 2.6v but i'm only running 200mhz so should i keep it @ 2.6v? No, if AG said 2.8V, then go to 2.8V.
ah_khoo Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 try to burn them usin 2.8V for few days, then after a few days you may try 2.6V, same case like me b4, when they're on divider, needs higher voltage (for few days burn in) and looser timing. Fum Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 i've got it set @ 240*10 htt x4 there's a tidbit in the "how to overclock an athlon 64" sticky which explains why htt should be set to 3x... in short, setting it to 3x will NOT decrease performance, only add stability. try it.
