Guest ElAguila Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Did a clean windows install on an sata 250gb driver a few days ago. Everything was working fine. This morning I got a BSOD. I rebooted the machine and now it sticks on boot after it gets to the point where it says verifying dmi pool. It won't go past that. Everything in the bios is at default settings as this is a non oc'd system. It has 2x512mb pqi ddr500 ram, 3400NC processor, geforce 6800gt video card, and a blue storm 500w psu and a sony dvd burner. I have done a search and tried some of the solutions mentioned such as changing ram voltage and the hdd delay to 2.

Guest ElAguila Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Yep. Did a cmos reset and took the battery out for a couple of hours as well. I am getting ready to put in a different memory stick and if problem persists I will put in another video card.
Guest ElAguila Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Strange thing is that I can put in the win pe disk and tell it to boot from c drive and it will boot. What could be causing this?
sdat1333 Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 maybe HDD corruption? Try a windows repair
Guest ElAguila Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I am in the recovery console right now running a chkdsk and then I will boot from my floppy and run an fdisk /mbr on it and then see if it will boot.
Guest ElAguila Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I resolved the issue by booting from xp cd into repair console and running a checkdisk with repair option and then the fdisk /mbr.
