ElDuderino Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Whenever I load a game or 3dmark05 I get a really LONG beep coming from the PC. Any idea what the heck this is? They run fine...why would the motherboard beep like that? Thanks His Dudeness EDIT: I am Prime95 stable btw. Running a divider of 140 on standard performance DDR400 2x512mb Mushkin because my Redline Mushkin is RMAd.
ElDuderino Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 bump Do video cards have a speaker that beeps? Because the beep that is coming from the PC is WAY louder than I have ever heard the SLI-DR beep.
ElDuderino Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Well, thanks for the help guys. Here is what I did to fix this problem: I was using 81.85 forceware...upgraded to unsigned 81.87 forceware and the beeping has ceased. I thought it might have been me pushing the CPU OC so I backed off. But, Back to the grind, I am gonna try and get 2800mhz/core stable. Anyone know what vcore is too high for X2s? ElDuderino Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Well, I was wrong the new drivers didn't help. The beeping is not coming from the DFI speaker. Where the heck can this beep come from? Do the 7800gtxs have a speaker or something? Anyone?
ElDuderino Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 This beep occurred again, but not during a game. I think it does it when the PWMIC reaches 60c. Can anyone confirm this? Seems kinda odd to me. Settings are: 285*10 vcore 1.696-1.712 according to cpu-z 1.70v chipset 1.47v ldt 2.62v ram I am gonna back off this overclock to 2750 at 1.536vcore. EDIT: It did it again but the pwmic was only at 45c...scratch that idea.
red930 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Remove the case side so you can hear whether or not it is coming from your computer or something else. Do you have a UPS connected to the system?
ElDuderino Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005  I bet you are right. It could be the UPS because my hearing isn't what it used to be, and the UPS is right smack next to the PC. Wow goober you are the man. Now I remember it going all crazy when I had too many devices plugged into it. Let's see, what can I remove? I managed to fit my mouse on my surge protector. The only thing on the backup now is the relay(which powers the pump and TEC psu). And the PC PSU itself. I can't believe it. :shake: :eek2:  LOL It's an APC 1500 Smart UPS...I would think it could handle the load. Here is a picture of how well the mouse power fits on the surge protector and the UPS itself.
ElDuderino Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 It ALWAYS happens in the 3d pixel shader test of PCMark05. It used to happen alot during 3DMark05 too. About 10 seconds in it would start. The red overload light comes and at the same time the battery meter goes empty.
