tameone Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 ok I am encountering something extremely strange. I am unable to complete a download of futuremark 3dmark 03. My download freezes/times out at 11.5 MB EVERY TIME. I 1st attempted to DL from fileshack.com NY server. Was dling at 250k/s (capped) but DL froze at 11.5 MB downloaded. I thought ok, I'll try a diff server. Attempted to DL from fileshack Chicago server. 250k dl speed, times out at 11.5 MB. so.. I went over to majorgeeks.com, started the 3dmark 03 download.. 460k/s froze at 11.5 MB downloaded. I didn't know what to think at this point, so I headed over to download.com and began to dl the 1st file I saw over 11.5MB.. it happened to be Serious Sam 2 demo.. It easily reached 25MB downloaded without a problem. So then I went to a friends site and began to download a 77mb file at 500k/s, it completed without a hitch. I thought maybe my problem magically got fixed, so, 2nd attempt to DL from majorgeeks.com, freezes at 11.5MB. Try from a german server hardwareluxx.de (got the link off futuremark.com)..100k/s, times out at 11.5MB downloaded. So, I have concluded that I simply cannot download the 3dmark 03 installer!! what the hell is going on!?! I have run MS anti spyware and AVG antivirus and they found nothing. WHY does this program hate me so much!!

Trevor Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Let me guess, you have the nvidia firewall installed.
tameone Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 that one froze at 11.4 MB I went onto my other box (dunno why I didn't think to do this before), and it froze at 11.5MB downloaded as well!!!! Only happens on this one file! Something must be wrong with my router/modem/ISP ? edit: I don't have nvidia firewall installed. My other box has no firewall installed (not even windows firewall.. its running win2k sp4) and is outside of my routers firewall completely. tameone Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 My router is a Belkin 2.4ghz 802.11g wireless cable/DSL gateway router (although both these PCs are hooked through a cable) model # F5D7230-4 version 1112 My cable modem is a General Instrument (Motorla) SURFBoard SB3100 (given to me by cable company). My ISP is Adelphia Powerlink. I have never experienced anything like this before. I will hook the PC directly to the modem and see what happens. edit: ok here I am directly connected to the freshly reset cable mode, and Im staring at a download frozen at 11.5 MB
