Angry_Games Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 ooook...so I promised someone (you know who you are if you remember...I don't remember who but I remember that you asked for it lol) that I would make a vid on how to get the XP-90 off and at the same time, Thermalright sent me an XP-120 and SI-120 to verify that they work on the RDX200 CF-DR board so...fooling around for another 9 hours...I made a quick 6 minute, 48 second video of how to do this lol it aint the best, but I am getting better at this stuff, and now learning how to integrate motion video into these things the file size is rather large for a 6 minute video...142MB but it is bittorrent...so here: http://www.angrygames.com/files/xp-120_install-3.avi.torrent now...couple of things to keep in mind testing testing...welcome to the next step in Bizzarro Angry Instructional Video Land I have found a free (no registration required) Bit Torrent tracker, so if possible, PLEASE test the torrent. I have it seeding and my friend here is also downloading/seeding right now so we know it works, but we also need you guys to test please. If it works, it will be how we distribute large how-to stuff like this little test video. DO NOT EVER USE THIS TORRENT STUFF FOR ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES if you do such stuff, do it on your own time, and with your own sites/trackers. I was lucky enough to find a good, free tracker, and there's no way I am going to screw that up, nor have any legal action brought against me because members at this forum began using it for illegal file distribution (of copyrighted materials). I know you guys won't do such a thing with our Street torrents...but I'm just making sure you know just how serious I am. Torrents are a great great way to distribute large file sizes as I just don't have the bandwidth to let 1,000 members download a 100MB file (and trust me, they WILL start getting to be 100MB soon as I get better and better with this vid capture stuff). UPDATED NOVEMBER 4th, 2005 xp-120_install-3.avi 142MB 800x640 resolution 6 minute, 46 seconds in length audio track imbedded If you need a Bit Torrent client, please use this one (its what I use, or find one you like): http://www.bittornado.com/ If you don't have a clue what BT is or how it works, google is your friend the torrent file is here: http://www.angrygames.com/files/xp-120_install-3.avi.torrent You WILL need the Xvix codec to watch this video! It can be downloaded either at www.xvid.org or from me: http://www.angrygames.com/files/XviD.rar One of the things we will be requiring for using Torrents to distribute helpful things is that you must seed the file you download until you have at least a 1:1 ratio (ie: you must upload as much as you have downloaded). That is the entire point of the Bit Torrent idea, is that when you are done downloading the file, you leave it running so that others can download from you (as well as everyone else that has the file). #0 - You WILL need the Xvix codec to watch this video! It can be downloaded either at www.xvid.org or from me: http://www.angrygames.com/files/XviD.rar #1 - this file is 142MB in size...just a reminder #2 - it is good etiquette to continue to let the BitTorrent file run after you are finished downloading it...this file can only be distributed by those of you that let it continue to 'seed' or keep uploading to others. #3 - first guy that complains I spelled Thermalright incorrectly on the intro title screen (I spelled it Thermarlight both times grrrr) is getting punched in the head lol after spending countless hours fooling with this thing, and watching it a zillion times, i didn't catch that spelling error until I had already compiled the vid together...and its still sorta beta test for me to make these for you...so don't complain so much :tooth: if there's anything else I can think of, I will add it...I'll be copying this to almost every forum as it is pertinent for NF4, NF3 also (even Intel socket 478 stuff)
lorenzox Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Hi Angry, thanks a lot again for this vid. You received from Thermalright a XP-120 and a SI-120. You've probably tested them and had them in your hands. I have a question : what is the difference between this two coolers ?

rhohan Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Hi Angry, thanks a lot again for this vid. You received from Thermalright a XP-120 and a SI-120. You've probably tested them and had them in your hands. I have a question : what is the difference between this two coolers ? as far as i understand, the si-120 is shaped a lot differnetly. it doesn't have a solid base, for compatility, kinda like the si-91a. it performs a little bit better than the xp-120, but works on more boards. here are some links: si-120 : http://www.overclockers.com/articles1254/ xp-120 : http://www.silentpcreview.com/article186-page1.html
Bladesinger7x Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Angry, thanx a lot, downloadalready in progress (btw, I was the guy asking for the TR removal guide). I recently removed SI-120 from the mobo (Ultra-D) and it it was huge PITA. I had to remove the board from the case and even than the clips were stiff as hell. After 15 minutes of hell and cursing the living and the dead making this piece of crap I finally removed it (I need to lap the base a little). After that it is gouing in for good Anyway, if anyone is interested in seeing how the SI-120 fits the NF4 mobo here are some pictures (sorry no side pictures for now): http://www.shrani.si/pics/re-expos120779.jpg http://www.shrani.si/pics/kif_0655120780.jpg http://www.shrani.si/pics/rotation120781.jpg As for the difference between XP-120 and SI-120, SI-120 is made to be more compatible with different mobos, is about 25mm taller (memory removal is real easy now - also additional cooling could be installed - 15mm fans), but has no connections between the base and the upper fins other than the heatpipes and wire support clips on the other side. AaronATX Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 The SI-120 fits fine on the rdx200. Mine has no clearance issues at all.

Trevor Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 The interlacing is really noticeable when somthing just barely moves.
Angry_Games Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 The interlacing is really noticeable when somthing just barely moves. *sigh* did you get from the video what I was trying to convey? how to remove and install an XP series heatsink? (why do you guys always complain about things that have nothing to do with anything....'there's no sound angry!' and 'i don't like the music' and 'you didn't talk!' and 'how come you had the camera at that angle?' and one edge of that graphic looked a little fuzzy' etc etc etc) the whole point of the video is to instruct you how to do something the whole point of me making them and putting them up for you is to judge whether or not I am on the right track in my attempts at instructing you not to tell me you don't like the music (and when i dont put music in because you say you don't like it, then you complain that there's no music or no sound at all...and if I narrated it, you'd find something else to complain about, like my tone of voice, or my cadence or something sheesh) I don't mean to sound so harsh...but some of you always seem to miss the point...and the point is... did the video do a good job of informing you about whatever it was trying to convey in the video? lol
