Armagedor Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 i get nothing, no image, video cards trow no image, so i get 1 red led and a series of beeps, it doesn't boot, it doesn't even start the DFI logo if i put the mobo on SLI, and i said before, it works fien on single mode, so the problem is in the SLI configuration, and i chaged jumpers to SLI, placed the bridge and connected the power to the cards
JiminyC Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 When using sli it is important that: 1. the jumpers have been *properly* changed which means all 6 have been moved down or to the other jumper block. 2. Make sure both cards are seated properly. 3. Make sure the sli-bridge is firmly seated. 4. Make sure *proper power* is connected to both cards. If you have 6 pin then use them, if not, it takes 2 different 4 pin to 6 pin for each card. They can't be daisy-chained. Again, 2 different 4 pin converted to 6 pin for each card. Adapters are included in all BFG cards. It will have 2x 4 pins with a 6 pin connector. 5. Turn on computer. 6. If it doesn't boot, you have problems. 7. Go back to step one and verify everything. 8. If it still doesn't boot then you have 1 of 2 problems. - A. You have 2 cards, that may be identical in name but not identical in firmware. - B. a dead pci-e slot. You can test each slot with one card though and it should boot 8x. When you get it booted you need to enable sli in nvidia display properties. You also need to tell us which bios you are using. Goto start-programs-accessories-system tools-system information. On the right you will see the Bios Version/Date. It will say *Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.0 PG, x/xx/xxxx Those x's are your bios date and also your version. Please update your sig so we know what bios you are running. 1. I changed your formatting to make it easier to read. 2. Unnecessary comments have been removed. There is no reason in the world to be rude when assisting someone with a problem. Remember that the next time you post. AceGoober.
AlienKing Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Lets start with the simplest things. It looks like the computer is booting, but you aren't getting any video. First, what video card is the monitor cable plugged into? Also, with 2 video ports on each card, makes sure its plugged into the primary output. I think the monitor should NOT be plugged into the bottom card when usining SLI. Also, the video card should have labeled the DVI ports on the cards. My card has a #1 next to one of them and a #2 next to the other. Make sure it is connected to #1. Second, make sure all FOUR power cords are connected to the motherboard. 24-pin ATX, 4-pin P4 connector, molex, and floppy. Edit: Forgot the word not, makes a big difference
Armagedor Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Ok after fighting for a wile i had been able to make the computer work with the 2 cards, now the problem is, it doens't give the option to activate the SLI and it doesn't have audio anymore (realtek), and the card to wich the monito connected is top one (bottom one is on single mode) the monitor is a conected with DVI, jumpers had been propely placed for the 7th or 8th time, I have even cheked if there is any missing single jumpers inside the multy jumper, bridge has no proble, cards are properly seated and i have done all i can. Also, new drivers 81.85 (i think that was the number) does not recognice the cards and says that i don't have the hardware, on SLI or on single mode neither of the cards (jsut to mention one of them arrived yesterday after i RMA it for being defective after a 3 months of use). JiminyC Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 thanks ace, If you had followed this thread from yesterday, you would understand. I don't get paid to help, I do this on my own and my own time. I have tried to help this guy. When I post, I look at the replies and take notice to what people are saying. In other words I PAY ATTENTION BTW, there is no 6-15-05 bios for that board, of course unless he flashed his board with a bios from another. deb0 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 To echo prevsious comment, I would verify your BIOS version. It should read 623. Here are some other things to try: Clear BIOS, try optimized defaults. If overclocked, go default clock speeds. Check Powersupply by switching leads to single card. Also try a powersupply tester. Verify that each card works independently.

red930 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Armegedor: 1. Please see my comments in your first post of this thread. 2. Please re-check the date code on the lower left of the computer monitor when it is POSTing (i.e. counting RAM, etc.)
