I am trying to overclock the CPU from my sig.

I have set these:

CPU STARTUP VID: 1.425

CPU VID: 1.425

CPU SPECIAL: VID*113%

I have idle temp 36 C in Windows, but after I run Prime 95 after a few minutes it reaches 65 C and the system switches off, because as stated ot the AMD site my CPU has a max temp. of 65 C and I put in BIOS System Shutdown temp: 65 C

Is it OK to go beyond that temp?

My man I´ve got my 3000+ @ 2,8GHz on 1,5v so this is too much power for start.

BTW: my goes at 2,0GHz on just 1,1v prime stabile, and for 2,4GHz only 1,2v

I have SonicTower too and my temp is never above 40-45°C when I run my at 2,8GHz at 1,5v

Dude, get a new power suplly, might as well get a new chip since I would think that one is probably damaged from the heat, depends on how long it was over 50*.

Wow that's helpful.

What are your temps with stock speed/voltage? Do you have any airflow in your case?
