aztec Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 Any suggestions? Some ideas I have are the Vantec Iceberq, or one of the Zalman Heatpipes. But what is the consensus on what works best for the least cash outlay for this card? Thx!

kobalt Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 (edited) I've head good things about zalman BUT do you have a spare pci slot? This thing is so huge that it will take the first pci slot in your mobo, the HS on it is close to an inch thick where the fan is.And it's not recommended to move your PC with this thing plugged in cause of the weight So if you dont use that particular slot under your vid, card and you dont intend to use it ever go ahead. But personally i like the blue glow vantec's iceberQ4-pro gives on the card under it. Edited August 6, 2003 by kobalt
aztec Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 Yeah, I have an unused PCI slot, so the big Zalman sink wouldn't be a problem size-wise.
Ziggy54354 Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 get the Zalman if u have LOTS of fans that can blow across it, otherwise get the thermaltake Giant II. I have 2 fans on the Zalman, a pci slot cooler at 42cfm and a 90mm fan at around 50cfm, if i remove the 90mm fan by opening my case my system will crash. So as u can see... cooling is very important.
