Angry_Games Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I would, but i hate SP2, hehe what is there to hate? honestly, this sounds like a repeated statement without any real experience to back it up. We highly recommend SP2 for not only the latest security fixes, but the latest OS updates etc. I do not recommend not using SP2 at all. All software works with it now. Is there a reason why i should run my memory at 3volts at default? BTW, i'm using the orange slots. no memory that I can think of requires 3v at stock speeds Another thing the CPU/CHIPSET FAN blows, my Venice is hitting 25c and the fan goes from 3xxxrpm to zero. Probably try a different bios that has been modified? depends on how you either have your BIOS set to handle fans @ temp, or how you have ITE Smartguardian or MBM5 programs set to handle fans @ temp
Guest Dynamic Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Honestly i would never install SP2, just fine using SP1 and never seen any reason to install the second service pack, really! I'm behind a router that has been configured with a firewall. I use FireFox 1.5 and pretty much been doing this for couple of years now. The reason why i stated the ram running @default with 3v is because i noticed the same pair at the stock database running at that. You know what i'm talking about. I haven't messed around with MBM, just copy/pasted the Data folder from the forum and kept it at that. I wonder how it will override the settings from the bios? My chipset is usually around 37c IDLE, load, not sure, maybe 41c. My CPU is what i'm worried about because it hits around 25c at IDLE and lower and the fan shuts off and right when it raises the fan goes full blown, rediculas. BTW, i've been overclocking, what do you think? 289X9 2.6GHz 1.55v Vcore Memory 236MHz DDR772 2252-1T 3.5v HTT @867MHz (Auto) 44.52% overclock with stock HSF...lol
Angry_Games Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 for overclocking you will have to post in the Overclocking section this section is only for Stock Speed

KimTjik Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 @Angry_Games Even though my memory modules GeiL Ultra-X [bH-5] are very easy to run, maybe it could be usefull if I posted a list of just specified settings without any "auto", at least it wouldn't do any harm. Question: in the rules for "OC database" Aquamark3d has been removed, but in the rules for stock speed it's still included, does that mean you still demand it for this thread? That's a good idea honestly. Question: in the rules for "OC database" Aquamark3d has been removed, but in the rules for stock speed it's still included, does that mean you still demand it for this thread? I'll fix this section's rules as Aquamark is no longer REQUIRED (as it does not run on certain ATI cards for some reason) but still suggested/recommended. 3d Mark 2006 is going to be added as REQUIRED (and if you have an older card that won't run it at all, you just need to show the little message that pops up telling you to get a better card than the Tseng Labs 2MB PCI VESA video card that you are trying to use hahaha)
smolt Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 . 3d Mark 2006 is going to be added as REQUIRED (and if you have an older card that won't run it at all, you just need to show the little message that pops up telling you to get a better card than the Tseng Labs 2MB PCI VESA video card that you are trying to use hahaha) dose the same rule aply to if you cant run 2005
Angry_Games Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 dose the same rule aply to if you cant run 2005 i suppose but you'd have to have an ultra-crappy, old, piece of junk vid card if it cannot run 2005 but if that is what you have, then you must show the picture that 2005 gives you saying your vid card is too junky to run any of the test (and then mow some extra lawns or whatever and get at least a Radeon 8500 which will run 3dmark2005...)
