HITandRUN Posted October 23, 2005 Go there and get Tmode's CD! Thann flash your BIOS to 623-3 or 623 BigToe! This is the second on the CD. Than we go from there! :shake:
malinois1 Posted October 23, 2005 CMOS Checksum error- Defaults Loaded.press F1 to continue, DEL to enter bios. the checksum error scares me. Well if you just cleared cmos as you stated earlier "Defaults Loaded" is normal. Now press del to enter bios...then load optimum defaults then press F10 Also you will need to flash the bios to 623 to support that cpu...
otherjohn Posted October 23, 2005 i cant get the stupid dvd/cdrom to load the disk. i tried the floppy also, but both just read then stop. any ideas?
HITandRUN Posted October 23, 2005 This sucks! You will have to do it either by floppy or cd! Strip the mobo of all the parts you don't need incl. the karjan sound controller. And try until you get some other BIOS on that mobo. Are you running one or two sticks of ram? I would suggest you only try with one for now.
otherjohn Posted October 23, 2005 one thing is that its constantly restarting after its doing its PCI listings. Even if I hit esc and select my boot device, it still restarts. I am wondering if this is because of the "optimal settings" not being realy optimal for my ram and CPU? any ideas on that. In the meantime I will do as requested. thanks
HITandRUN Posted October 23, 2005 HUM! Could be!
malinois1 Posted October 23, 2005 What voltage are you giving the ram? Try 2.8 and see what happens.
otherjohn Posted October 23, 2005 Hallaluyah!! I found some success. Ok, heres what I did, this time I cleared the BIOS by ALSO unplugging the battery. Then I started up the computer, and instead of going into BIOS and loading Optimised, I hit F1 to continue and it moved on to the CDROM boot and loaded up successfully! I will try to flash the bios correctly; wish me luck.

HITandRUN Posted October 23, 2005 Ha Ha dude! This is the way and only the way to clear the BIOS! I don't know what you did before but that wasn't clearing the BIOS. Well, we all learn everyday! :shake:
