d3bruts1d Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 Invalid system disk, replace and strike any key Or something like that? - Not a bootable disk.... Did you DL a BIOS update to a floppy? If so, amke sure it's not a Zip or an EXE file.... If Zip Then Upzip to disk If Exe Then Run EXE (More than likely will tell you to put a floppy in the disk) If Zip and EXE Then Unzip to a temp dir Then Run the EXE

posey Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 needs to be a bootable floopy as well.
d3bruts1d Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 There should be a readme or some other type of documentation with the flash... It should tell you to create a bootable/system disk and then put the updates on it, or to run a exe/bat file that will create the boot disk with the flash on it.... That is assuming that the flas is done from a boot disk... some of the newer BIOS do not even require a boot disk any more, you simpily flash from Windows. Check your documentation. mgarceau Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 sorry if this is a dumb question, but what do you mean by bootable disk ?
d3bruts1d Posted June 21, 2002 Posted June 21, 2002 A bootable disk is a disk (generally a floppy or CD ROM) that contains the required system files to start the computer.... usually to a DOS prompt. Boot disk can also be used to boot into the 2000 repair utility, as well as to boot the system incase the system fails to boot normally.
