DevilMB3017 Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 I think you might have a virus, or just a flatout bad install. The only word of advice I can give you is to format your HDD and install Windows again.
Newb_ocer Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Bahahahha Are yOU KIDDING thats the flat out dumbest way to repair windows system files.. FORMAT lol -_- why not just run System Files checker? it keeps the Registry and just replaces all system files and ya botta bing botta boom your windows directory is restored to just like you reinstalled windows with no heezy fo sheezy registry. Yes i had to delete system32 or what not cause it had a virus attached to it i had to delete a componant anyways but it seems to run PErfect without it besides the fact it crashes over 2.9 i just dicovered

blippy Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Bahahahha Are yOU KIDDING thats the flat out dumbest way to repair windows system files.. FORMAT lol formatting isn't actually the worst way to deal with things....what if the virus ( if there is one) infected other files? So yeah you might repair your registry, and keep all your programs...but the infected files will just infect your system again. besides, windows gets incredibly messed up, it's probably just good to reformat every 6-12 months...if you partiton your drives right, you'll only format the windows section, leaving a WHOLE LOT of programs that can still be used with the new install of windows. Granted, some programs will have to be reinstalled, but that takes all of 5, 10, 15 minutes at max.
d3bruts1d Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Most people don't use SFC... it eats up disk space, as well as degrade performance of the system. Nothing compares to a good clean format and reinstall. <_<

I agree with this....i just partition a 5 gig slice for windows and if it starts to get screwed I just reinstall.....if only Linux were compatable with EVERYthing...ahhh.... C0DE Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Well my last post on a topic said my computer has problems loading some stupid windows file after POST Why is that? because you overclocked too much... getting load errors is normal if you o/c too much. bring it down and if there is still corruption then you will need to reinst.. Newb_ocer Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 (edited) How about partition a 4 gig slice and hide the hard drive all together so its virtually undetectable somewhat like they did on screen savers.. Oh and i formatted. Stuff just went down hill and yea to many problems SO out with it all. Trying for the 3ghz+ again some time today lol once i get all my apps back up to par. First thing installed= Norton anti virus Edited August 4, 2003 by Newb_ocer
