Which BIOS is this??

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I recently purchesed a new system and begun to work on overclocking it. I found this post http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...47&postcount=39 and he has the same RAM, Processor, and mobo (I have NF4 Ultra-D) as me.

I heard the 7/04-2 BTA was a good bios for OCZ ram so I flashed my motherboard to it. The only problem is, Write CAS Latency (Twcl) has been taken out of my BIOS, while it is still in Angrys. Is he using a dif one? I used the cd that Tmod made and it all worked fine, im just a bit confused.

Oh and should I be using Orange slots of Yellow slots for my RAM.

Thanks

Edit - sorry its Write CAS Latency (Twcl) that isint in mine

I can reassure you that I didn't change anything on that bios.

If nobody has a answer I will check the bios and see if BigToe disabled it.

Ok I checked the bios anyway and the Refresh Period Tref is enabled and set to 3120 Cycles in the bios as default.

I am not familiar with that board as I don't have one, So it may be something that you have to have a certain setting some way or another.

EDIT: I checked the bios for the missing Write CAS Latency (Twcl) and Yes Tony has it disabled in the bios.

It is set to the Auto position by default and the other settings are 1~8 Bus Clocks.

Why I am not certain as I have never checked out what this does.

I don't think Angry's bios pics are from the 704-2bta bios.

Twcl is workable either at AUTO or 1 or 5 ONLY and since 5 is swapped to be "1" the only choices were AUTO or 1. AUTO chooses 1 so the d*mn of no use setting was hidden to keep users from trying a NO boot setting. That is how it was done. I had it done in fact.
