Hyundai L90D+ (19" 8MS)

ViewSonic - VX924 (19" 4 ms Grey to grey)

Samsung SyncMaster - 940B (19"...umm i think its 8ms)

Samsung Syncmaster 930BF (19" 4 ms)

also do u guys have any recommendaations for gaming lcds?

(im gonna have one IBM p260 for gaming at home...and the lcd for surfing/lanning)

also i read something about both the 17 and 19 inch lcds..becuz they both have the same native resolution..so the pixels on the 19 are a bit bigger...is this true...and if so..does it make much of a difference

Thanks...haha so what do you think of my buying abilities at 18 years old...using my own earned cash..no credit :D (g2 love the canadian reserves...so much EASY money)

I use the Samsung SyncMaster 730B and i love it. With the 8ms response time, it makes for a great gaming monitor. I compared both the 17 and 19 inch and I found i liked the picture on the 17in better. Im not sure if its because of the actuall pixels are bigger, because something just dosnt sound right about that, but someone else will have to chime in on that topic.

Hey,

Based on advice in this forum I went out looking at Samsung monitors. I ended up with the 960BF. Been Playing BF2 for about 3 hours on it now.. It is a 4ms response monitor and it is bada$$.. Better quality picture than I ever imagined. Price was a little high at 499.00 plus tax. The 940B was just as clear but only 1024 X 768 resolution..

BTW, did u ever get that CPU?

I'm using the Dell 2005FPW. For gaminig though I would not recommend this monitor as it eats every pixel you can through at it. Yes, my rig does fine with it, but if I had to do it all over again, I would go with the Samsung 930b until all games are widescreen capable. You can sometimes get it on sale at Office Depot OfficeDepot for around 300 with alot of rebates.

I going to be buying a 19" LCD soon and I've been trying to find out the same as you (idunno1987).

I didn't read such great reviews for the Smasung 930BF (I'll try and find the link tomorrow). The Hyundai one I've not even come across in any reviews.

However I after a lot of site surfing it appears that in several reviewers minds the following two are the best buys for gaming:

Viewsonice VX924 - had a great review but did mention that it only has 6bits per channel and hence only 6.2mil colours as opposed to 6.7 however I dont' know if how this would really effect things. It was said to be great for gaming!!

Sony SDM-HS95P - this did even better in the graphics dept and the reviewers loved the screen's clarity. However one gripe was that you can't adjust the height ( I guess if the height was a problem then books would solve the problem but that just wouldn't look nice under a new monitor  ).

Some of the BenQ monitors have amazing response times (grey to grey) but don't seem to get such amazing reviews.

Anyone actualy got one of the above monitors and anything to say about how they are for gaming??

Here is a link for the

Samsung 930BF (http://www.modthebox.com/review409_3.shtml)

Viewsonic VX924 (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cf...hreadid=1692597) and (http://reviews.cnet.com/ViewSonic_VX924/45...31337356-2.html)

Sony SDM-HS95P - (http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,a...,tfg,tfg,00.asp)

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you find anything else out as to which 19" LCD is best for gaming. I still haven't singled one particular monitor out yet so I still need advice in this.
