s14 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Hi guys, Hopefully someone can help me. I am getting 3-4 errors memtest 86+. They are always on test #7 and the first 3 are normally on pass number 1 (after pass 0). I have tested each stick individually and i only get errors on one on the 1gb sticks. They are in the orange slots - Any ideas? is my ram faulty (again) ? They have just been replaced and i can't go without a computer for another 2-3 weeks. Too much work to do! I can list all my bios dram settings if need be, maybe someone can shed some light. Maybe i have a slight setting that needs to be changed or something in order for the errors to go away? I have been having the same problems (single digit number of errors in test 7) with what appears the exact same ram. Unfortunately the conclusion I have arrived at after talking with OCZ for the past couple weeks is to RMA the set. But it sounds like you already tried that and the new set does the same thing. That does not sound encouraging to me, now I am seriously considering eating it and paying for a different set. I would be happy to compare settings with you, but I am guessing we are both running the settings provided by OCZ. The settings they gave did help reduce the number of errors but haven't eliminated them. Sorry that I am not much help. Edit: Welcome to the Boards! I recieved these settings from AndyOCZ: 200, Enable, 3, 3, 8, 3, 8, 16, 3, 3, 2, 3, 3120, Enable, Auto, 0, Level 6 (Normal 3), Auto, Auto, Fast, Auto, 256, Disable, 16, 7, Disable The set I have only runs at 2.6V. Increasing to 2.7V or beyond increases the number of errors. divinemisfire Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 from my experience .. u can pass memtest #7 by modifying the stock settings a bit. check spd settings under A64 tweaker or systools and play with some of the settings in the bios ... just change/tweak settings that affects test#7. If afterwards there are errors in other tests(#5 or #8 in particular) .. set it to the previous settings(before the changes). Thanks, it's good to be here I've had this computer for 5-6 weeks now and i've had nothing but problems with blue screens and weird booting up problems. Initially i had 20,000-30,000+ errors on the first lot of ram i had. I used to get PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD's. When I got the new sticks back i still had blue screens and experienced only the PFN_LIST_CORRUPT and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bSOD's. After i would get these bluescreens it would always be an "event id: 1003" error in event viewer. Originally i had 253 errors on test #7 during pases 10-12 after 9 hours of running but managed to get it down to the 3-4 im whining about now I did email ocz the first time and they did give me some settings to use but unfortunately they were no help. The settings i'm running on below are as follows. I did a bit of reading and have been playing around, so far it's worked. Hi there, I haven't overclocked anything since i got the machine. The original plan was to learn about overclocking and go from there but i've had too many issues with the computer to do anything. i guess when i iron out these final errors i'm gonna oc. Don't think the computer liked it when i had everything on auto. I think i started out with the settings that ocz gave me and then went from there. Thanks i have posted bios settings above. dram voltage is at 2.7v (up from 2.6) , and i've tried 2.8.
